We are seeking to appoint a motivated English teacher to join our team. The English department at Werneth School is built around an ethos of collaboration. We are a team of 15 subject specialists, including a librarian, and a literacy intervention mentor. The department leadership team is made up of a Subject Leader, a Second in Department, and a Coordinator. The department also includes two members of SLT, and the school SENDCo.
We are based in dedicated English classrooms, have a literacy intervention room for targeted support and have a well stocked and managed school library. There is a wide range of experience and expertise across the department well planned units of study as well as a strong focus on the professional development of members of the department with CPD sessions delivered on a regular basis.
Our aim as a department is to encourage students to be inquisitive; to ask questions of the world around them. Our curriculum is built with this aim in mind with a clear 5 year journey for all students.
