Nick Jones

 

Trustee

 

Nick Jones has over 15 years of School Governance experience including 3 years as Vice-Chair and 8 years as Chair of a Governing Body, during which time he gained experience of school improvement, development and supporting and challenging the School, Headteacher and leadership team.   He is currently Vice-Chair of a Local Advisory Board, a position he has held since 2022 with areas of responsibility including health and safety and compliance.

 

Other volunteer work includes a role as Trustee and Vice-Chair of the PCC of his local church and various positions in service organisations including Club President and District Chairperson of Rotaract.

 

Nick has been a Director and Shareholder and latterly, Managing Director of a Manchester-based fire and health and safety company for over 20 years; his varied and challenging role includes responsibility for day-to-day operations leading the senior management team to bring about sustained growth and development opportunities within the areas of operation. Nick is also responsible for overseeing all aspects of business operations including sales, financial, operations, staffing and personnel management, marketing and development. This  includes online materials as well as ensuring compliance with all health and safety, legal and statutory requirements in relation to business operations, and within the fire safety industry including reporting to the Board of Directors/Shareholders on all financial, operational and strategic matters.  Nick acts as the company’s Quality Manager (ISO 9001) and undertakes project management of larger contract supplies as well as policy development and implementation.  Nick has significant experience of change management including restructuring, development and implementation. He has also had experience of working in universities and Local Authorities as a Principal Officer.

 

Nick is very much looking forward to working as a Trustee on the ELT Board to provide support and challenge and to bring his experience of business and health and safety to support and develop the work of the Trust
